PART 2.
Though, I started enjoying my film college. I still remember Joe Dude my lecturer at the film college, the story writer of “Nneka The Pretty Serpent” and the others. He has a way of writing, interpreting, presenting and teaching the art of Story Writing and screenplay.
While at the Film College, I was making money from
individuals and film production companies by writing unique stories for them.
This was as a result of the training I got while learning. How about Cecil Ozobeme, my Cinematography lecturer at
the film college. He was used to teach and work. He was the first to impose on
me that “film making is a team
work and if you must succeed doing it, you must learn the art of working with
your team”.
He went as far as building us into groups were we had a
director, cinematographer, light personnel, sound personnel, costumier, makeup
artist, writer and editor in a group.
With that, each group was fired into executing projects
together, within the film college and the labour market. Sometime’s, he will
carry heads of each group to work outside the film college. So as to expose
them to what the labour market looks like.
Those who were unable to afford a film college or any formal
education in film making, especially the aspiring film makers, gave up because
they feel that, before they will be able to raise the fund that is required to
learn this art, they will be aged out, pocket out, and might be marooned.
